About Me

Jude Evans – the creator of The Literary Land – is a writer, blogger, reader & theatre-goer based in the West Midlands, UK.

She set up this blog in 2018 to house her literary and theatre musings. The idea for The Literary Land came in 2016, a year after the death of her mum, from whom she inherited her love of all things bookish. It began as a vehicle through which she could channel the conversations and passions that had dwindled away in the wake of grief and loss. A place and space to celebrate this magical world of words and ideas. It first existed as an Instagram feed only, with sharings of literary handlettering, before transforming into ‘booktography’, reviews, and mind-wanderings.

Jude also exists as Move with Jude, a Movement Teacher in freelance and employed capacities across a variety of fields. She has a great love of the human body and all that it can do and shares this with her students and clients. She is fortunate to be a constant student of movement practices, science, health, fitness, performing arts, philosophy and much more. Jude spent several years working in theatre, too, and she loves to let all this work inform her writing.

She is huge fan of the classics, having grown up reading and watching them, and enjoys seeking out new works in both the adult and young adult fields. Jude can often be found on theatre trips in her own backyard and further afield or settling down to a good period drama on TV.

Some of her favourite works include: Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte, Tess of the D’Urbervilles by Thomas Hardy, Persuasion by Jane Austen.
